Dr T V Narayana elected as new president of IPA; J Jayaseelan vice-president of industry division
Dr. T. V. Narayana, Director of Vikas Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Rajahmundy in Andhra Pradesh has been elected president of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), the biggest pharmaceutical professional association in the country. Suresh Khanna, Managing Director of Dossier Solutions & Services in Bangalore is the general secretary and Dr. Hemant Mondkar from Mumbai is the treasurer.
J Jayaseelan, managing director of Sai MIrra Innopharm Pvt Ltd, Chennai and Delvin Formulations, Chennai, has been elected vice-president of the industry division of the association. The tenure of the office-bearers is two years.
The other office-bearers who have also been elected for the term include Dr. Subhash Mandal, assistant director of drugs control administration in West Bengal as the new vice-president for Regulatory Division. Dr. RN Gupta from Ranchi is the vice-president for Hospital Pharmacy Division, S. Manjiri Gharat for Community Pharmacy and Dr. S Vidyadhara from Bangalore for Education Division. Dr. M N Mondkar is the new honorary secretary for the new term.
Sharing details with Pharmabiz, J Jayaseelan said the new office-bearers will take charge of the association immediately.
In addition to this national position, currently Jayaseelan is holding the post of vice-president of Tamil Nadu IPA and Chairman of IDMA Tami Nadu & Kerala state board. Till the last elective general body of IPA, Jayaseelan was the secretary of the industry division.
An eminent pharma industrialist with impeccable knowledge base, Jayaseelan has an illustrious stint with the marketing segment of pharmaceutical industry, in which he achieved a top leadership.
Under Jayaseelan’s leadership, the IPA organized the mega pharmaceutical professionals’ event, IPA Conference in February 2018 and in July 2010. He was also instrumental in organizing the 64th Indian Pharmaceutical Conference in 2012 in Chennai, and Pharmac South 2016, a product exhibition event. He is now engaged in the task of organizing the next Pharmac South Convention here in July next.
Jayaseelan has wide contact with leaders of pharma industry in national and international levels and association with several organizations working for pharma industry, trade and education.
